HighDef

So what's HD all about?

Basically, High Definition (HD) puts a bigger picture on your HD TV screen than Standard Definition (SD), so taking away the need to stretch the little picture (made to fit in little TVs) out to fill up a larger screen.

If you would like to read up all the technical wonders of High Def I recommend you have a browse through these articles from Wikipedia:

Blu-Ray Discs

But in summary, High Def video (particularly the HDV format) is made up of a picture 1080 pixels high x 1440 pixels wide, as opposed to a Standard Def picture which is 720 wide x 576 high.
More pixels means the image can be scaled up more before it looks fuzzy or pixelated.

Single-Layer Blu-Ray Discs can hold 25GB, as opposed to 4.7GB for a normal DVD, and the name "Blu-ray Disc" is derived from the blue laser used to read and write this type of disc. Because of the beam's shorter wavelength (405 nanometres), substantially more data can be stored on a Blu-ray Disc than on the DVD format, which uses a red (650 nm) laser.

Remember that to play Blu-Ray discs you'll need a Blu-Ray player or a PS3, as well as a HD ready television.

Pricing for having your wedding filmed and presented in HD can be calculated with the relevant checkbox in the Pricing Calculator.
